Health Professional - Susanna Davey
We’re huge fans of physiotherapists, our designer is one! What was it that made you want to be a physiotherapist?
I was always interested in the way the body worked and moved and I wanted to become a physio so I could teach people how to correctly move their bodies to prevent or recover from injury.
What is your favourite part of being a physiotherapist?
I am now mostly teaching Clinical Pilates and I love seeing the progression my clients make from the very basic level of core activation to Reformer based exercises. It’s really satisfying when patients also see the changes these exercises can make to their everyday movements and sporting activities. I also love working with women pre and post natally, educating them about how to move and exercise correctly and safely, to enable them to maintain, and then regain, strength and prevent potential injury through this time of huge change to their body.
What are the most common foot problems you see in your female patients?
At our clinic in Mosman we treat all sorts of foot problems. For females in particular, I think that a lot of foot problems originate from poor footwear. Unfortunately, a lot of the “fashionable” footwear does very little to support the feet, and this inevitably leads to biomechanical problems, not just in the feet, but for the whole lower limb.
What features of FRANKiE4 do you think could benefit your female patients?
The inner sole of the Frankie4’s is extremely comfortable. The colour and style choice of the shoes is trendy for younger people.
How did you like your FRANKiE4s?
I would have to say, the Ellie’s are the first pair of shoes I have had in years, that I can even wear without my orthotics and I have had no complications. I am known amongst my friends for always wearing “sensible shoes”, because there is a limited choice of shoes that satisfactorily fit my orthotics and provide the support that I need. It’s so nice to find a pair of sensible shoes that are feminine and stylish for younger people to wear. I also have the KAT sandals and have found them to be incredibly supportive yet still pretty and feminine.
In three words describe what FRANKiE4 means to you?
Feminine, comfortable, stylish
