Health Professional - Lynda Miller
We’re huge fans of physiotherapists, our designer is one! What was it that made you want to be a physiotherapist?
I always knew I wanted to work with people and in the healthcare industry. At the age of 14 I was introduced to physiotherapy due to an injury. The Physiotherapist I saw was absolutely incredible and got me on track so I could compete two weeks later. I remember walking out of her room and turning to my father and saying "I am going to be her one-day". In fact less than a decade later I actually started working with her in my first private practice job. I loved the fact that I could be a primary practitioner in the first line of injury management. Helping people get better has always been in my blood and physiotherapy allows me to do this every time I go to work.
What is your favourite part of being a physiotherapist?
As I said above, helping people. I love to educate and I see being a physiotherapist more like being an educator and counsellor then just merely a hands on practitioner. As a result I can make real changes in people's lives.
What are the most common foot problems you see in your female patients?
Isn't really a matter of foot problems, more a matter of lower limb biomechanic issues that contribute to a whole range of conditions and injuries. Usually these lower limb biomechanic problems need to be first addressed with proper footwear. In fact, changing footwear is often my first line of defence.
What features of FRANKiE4 do you think could benefit your female patients?
One of the biggest problems I have with getting women to change their footwear is that the fashion/style of good footwear is not conducive to a nice outfit. Especially younger women. Their shoes need to look nice as well as being functional, and often the way they look far overrides how comfortable or good for them the shoes are. FRANKiE4 certainly have that issue covered. I also love the different insole options. It makes a massive difference knowing the shoe will fit them regardless of if they can try them on or not. It means your shoes can actually fit pretty much the entire range of foot types I see and still provide the support and comfort each of those types needs.
How did you like your FRANKiE4s?
I absolutely love them!! I have never had a pair of shoes that are actually good for my feet and look so cute! I can wear them all day, every day without any issues. In fact I think my back actually feels better when I wear them.
In three words describe what FRANKiE4 means to you?
Comfort, style, support.
