Health Professional - Hilary Byrth
We’re huge fans of podiatrists, our designer is one! What was it that made you want to be a podiatrist?
I have had ‘trouble making’ feet from a young age and found out from 11 years old the difference a Podiatrist could make to people’s lives. After a visit with a podiatrist I was able to return to ‘being a kid’ and pain free. Who wouldn’t want to grow up a turn into a podiatrist after an experience like that!
What is your favourite part of being a podiatrist?
I am extremely lucky to be a public podiatrist! My day is filled with a variety of clients and patients, from high risk foot management, musculoskeletal injury, paediatric, rural outreach clinics and hospital based work. l love that our scope of practice allows us to be problem solvers, creative, spending all day with people and having the skills to reduce symptoms and improve the use of the lower limb and feet!
What are the most common foot problems you see in your female patients?
Skin pathology, such as corns and callus, associated with incorrect fitting footwear and abnormal foot function.
What features of FRANKiE4 do you think could benefit your female patients?
