We’re huge fans of nurses! What was it that made you want to be a nurse?
I remember watching M.A.S.H. as I was growing up (still one of my favourite TV shows) and watching the dynamics between the doctors and the nurses and the difference that you could make to someone’s life. Being a caring and compassionate soul, it seemed like the right career path for me and I thought for sure, I would end up following my aunty into a career in theatre. However, I realised that I was destined to be become a midwife after one of my rural nursing pracs and seeing what a privilege it is to be involved in that part of a woman’s life.
What is your favourite part of being a nurse?
As a midwife, it is being allowed into such a special time in someone’s life. Being able to give the time and energy to help that woman to succeed in whatever way she decides, not just in labour ward, but also postnatally on the ward. Seeing the Dad’s melt over their new little bundles and the joy as the family embarks on their new journey together.
What do you look for when searching for nursing shoes?
Something that is firstly appealing to the eye (who wants an ugly shoe?). Comfort not just for my feet but also my dodgy knees. And lastly a shoe that can be easily cleaned (don’t ask what ends up on them) with a decent grip.
What features of FRANKiE4 do you think could benefit nurses?
They are stylish, comfortable, easily cleaned, and with great soles allowing for good grip. Even better, the range of sizes they come in (hard when you have bigger feet) and the range of inserts to individualise the fit.
How did you like your FRANKiE4s?
I love them. I was super nervous getting them without having tried them on first, but they amazed me with how true to size they were. My previous work shoes had gotten to the point where my knees were swelling at the end of each shift. Not one sore knee since I have been wearing my Frankie4’s. My feet feel supported, and comfortable even on the busiest of shifts. To top it off, I have had so many comments and questions from people asking me about my nice shiny shoes!
In three words describe what FRANKiE4 means to you?
No swollen knees!!!
