Health Professional - Astrid Chapman
We’re huge fans of nurses! What was it that made you want to be a nurse?
I started off doing a Bachelor of Nursing/ Paramedicine which is a dual degree. I had no interest in nursing until I did my first placement in ICU. My buddy nurses showed me that it was more than just a job, it was hard work physically and emotionally. From that moment on I wanted to be an ICU nurse and be the best nurse I could possibly be.
What is your favourite part of being a nurse?
The best part is getting the patient well and seeing them achieve their goals. That goal might include speaking for the first time in weeks or months, being able to eat and drink again, walking or even getting out of bed. Sometimes it’s the small things that means that most to the patients and their loved ones. This is what makes the job worthwhile and being a part of that moment is very special.
What do you look for when searching for nursing shoes?
When looking for shoes for work I look for arch support, comfort, style, and quality meaning something that is not going to be replaced in a couple of months’ time.
What features of FRANKiE4 do you think could benefit nurses?
No only do they look good (which is very rear for nursing shoes), they are of high quality and I no longer get back or knee pain during the shift, which is what I struggled with before I started wearing Frankie 4.
How did you like your FRANKiE4s?
I love them, I would rate them 100/10. Would never wear any other shoes to work again.
In three words describe what FRANKiE4 means to you?
Comfort, style and painfree !
